Web Application Developer

Job Purpose

• Responsible for developing quality web applications / portals at stipulated time and also ensuring proper commenting in the source code to guarantee transferability. Strict adherence to analysis team specification and source code versioning and coding standards/ conventions is paramount.
• Description of Duties and Tasks
  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  Required
  • Researching, designing and writing new software programs
  • Unit testing new programs and fault finding
  • Developing existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification.
  • API integration.
  • Investigating new technologies.
  • Assisting technical authors with writing operational documentation.
  • Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects.
  • Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, systems analysts, and sales and marketing.
  • Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications.
  • Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project.
  • Unit tested and quality software Programs
  • Clearly commented and versioned source codes
• Knowledge
  Must possess required knowledge and be able to work with little or no supervision.
  Required
  • Ability to code in at least two different object oriented languages.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft developed languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to code with php and other open source languages is an advantage.
  • Database programming is required.
• Skills
  Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

• Work Experience
  NYSC experience is accepted as a year of experience.
  Required
  • Minimum of two (2) years post graduation experience in web application development.
  Preferred
  • Three (3) or more years post graduation experience in web application and windows or mobile application development.
• Education
  Required
  •OND, HND or B Sc. in Computer Science or Information Technology related discipline.
  Preferred
  • HND or B Sc. in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Projects
  Required
